Diov Ref

This is a short profile of Diov, which, while he is my oldest character, I've never done before. Usually I'm really OCD about the lineart, and most of my pics don't get finished because of that, but for this, I just decided to cut myself a break and just color in a pencil sketch rather than retrace it in Photoshop. Sorry about the half assed job on the shading... Also, it's been bothering me. His arms seem a bit short... D':

I made those ink blots too by the way. Didn't download them. Cause that's how cool I am. D:

This ref is just to show his over all style and features rather than to be an absolute guide to his clothes. He has more clothes, and technically, he doesn't own the black shirt he's wearing in the ref anyways. The Japanese on the shirt says 'Kane ga nai' which translates to (I) have no money. It's pretty true of him and it's also pretty similar to a yaoi I really like, Okane ga nai. He isn't gay, and I'm not sure if he likes manga at all, so it doesn't seem like something he would own.

Changes in Di:

~Took away his tie and white collared shirt and gave him a grey long sleeved shirt to wear under his black tee shirt instead.
~Redesigned the pants a bit, but kept the color.
~Gave him Converse Chucks to replace his black boots.
~Thinned out his tail a bit and made his ears smaller and lower on his head.
~Translated his cartoonish hair into a more realistic style.

I'm going to be practicing a more realistic style than I was before and will be trying to give my characters separate and distinct body types.

Style: Likes cargo pants, green and beige, and jeans. He also tends towards layering shirts rather than wear jackets. Likes punkish accessories.


Last little comment here and then I'm done. I didn't mean for his hair to look like Light Yagami's... It just sorta turned out that way...
